Calisthenics conditioning is built around giving your body full attention. We address the whole body by mixing up muscle groups, working to correct instability in your joints, and balancing your compensating muscles. CC is great for any level but is focused on the beginner to intermediate client looking to hit the entire body in one great 45 min class.
HiitFit is high intensity interval training supplemented with functional strengthening and elongating of specific muscle groups. Each exercise in HiitFit is followed up with another (a.k.a. superset) with no rest in between: the first, you will push yourself to 90% of your max effort within a short time frame, focusing on speed and good form; the next, you will elongate and strengthen the smaller muscle groups and joints as we lower intensity and increase the workout time. Here at LFA we push for functional strength over vanity; HiitFit won’t turn you into a body builder, but you will definitely be shredded. Streetsport Level 1 is a class that is tough but completely adaptable, combining elements of strength training and cardio to increase fat burning while building muscle. Streetsport developed around calisthenics, which is simply a body weight exercise modality. We work with individuals in this class to help them achieve the most out of any given exercise (like bench dips, squats, assisted chin-ups or push-ups) while keeping them free from injury. Streetsport Level 1 is SAFE for everyone!
Streetsport Level 2 is a class designed to progress you through some of the most impressive gymnastic/calisthenics movements possible. Level 2 means that you already have achieved 5-10 chin ups, 30 second assisted handstand or headstand, 5 assisted pistol squats and that you’re not afraid of pushups. In this class HIIT is built-in by using peripheral heart action exercises. Simply put, we build circuits that force the body to move blood from top to bottom to increase the body’s need for oxygen. This increases your heart rate while you strength train leaving you with a great “after-burn”.
Vinyasa flow class: This class is a movement-with-the-breath yoga class. You will move through traditional vinyasa sequences with attention paid to your inhales and exhales. These moves are both therapeutic and strengthening, a workout for you mind and your body.
Restorative class: This class is the perfect class if you’ve never done yoga, or if you have movement impairments or injuries. Concentrating on the breath to learn the foundations of yoga. Restorative yoga encourages mindfulness, a heightened body awareness and is soothing to the nervous system.
Mix up: This class is a stretching and strengthening class modeled after parts of a vinyasa flow and Ashtanga yoga. It features traditional yoga sequences in a non-traditional way. This class focuses more on the movement portion of yoga.
Broga is a yoga class geared for men (where it’s okay if you can’t touch your toes).
Strong, energetic, and challenging, Broga combines the best core-strengthening, muscle-toning, cardio-working, stress-reducing, clarity-enhancing yoga postures with functional fitness exercises for an amazing workout. You’ll get that pumped-up feeling you get from working out and a deep flexibility and relaxation feeling from “working in.”
