Smoothie of the Week: The Cold Buster!

May 27, 2021 | Nutrition, Recipes | 0 comments | Author:

This smoothie (really, juice) of the week recipe was provided by The Urban Juicer, the hip new juice and smoothie joint off 8th Ave in Nashville. Here is a bit from Kristin:

My name is Kristin McCalley and I work for the Urban Juicer. I have been juicing for just over 6 months and it has changed my life! I used to struggle with frequent health problems: colds and poor digestion. Every winter since I was a kid I have come down with at least 3 colds/flus per season, but this winter I stayed flu free and all I have to attribute my newfound health to is the healing power of raw foods. The Cold Buster, made by the Urban Juicer, is a perfect place to start building up your immune system! The citrus provides a great source of vitamin C and the ginger and lemon will have you up and energized in no time (all while helping your digestion!). The Urban juicer is a locally owned and operated business in Nashville Tennessee with a mission to provide people with a healthy alternative to fast food at an affordable price. We offer made-to-order juices and smoothies as well as wraps and paninis made fresh in our kitchen each morning and raw, vegan, and gluten free snacks! We are located on 8th Ave South, as well as in the Green Hills and Bellevue YMCA, so stop by to start feeling good!

Smoothie of the week: The Cold Buster!
1 Grapefruit
2 Apples
1/2 Lemon
Ginger

Throw the ingredients into your juicer, process, and enjoy! OR, you can blend all the ingredients in a high power blender with enough water to blend and either have as a smoothie or strain for less pulp!
